This week on the blog, we’re celebrating the names of classic rock ‘n’ roll. Musical hero names such as Lennon and Hendrix have never been hotter (and is it just me, or does Ziggy seem to be everywhere lately?) but we have some fresh inspiration from the world of rock. Ozzy is on my personal list of names to watch, and Strummer might be the epitome of cool.

Plus, notable names from rock songs, guaranteed to give you an earworm. (Cecilia, you’re breaking my heart! That’ll be stuck with me for the rest of the day).

Help Halsey Name Her Baby

I predict baby names for a lot of rockers and rappers and pop stars, but Halsey has proven to be a special case. You see, while I normally end up with a handful of names that feel right for each celeb, for Halsey I’m all in on one name: Evren.

Evren has Turkish roots (just like Halsey's partner, Alev Aydin), is a unisex name, and means “universe” — Halsey loves the cosmos! 💫 It’s the perfect meaningful choice for a girl or boy.

I did come up with other suggestions, just in case Halsey and Alev can’t commit to Evren. But I want to hear your picks! Enter our contest — if you’re right, you could win $100.

Speaking of contests, congratulations to Berry @gabriellecarolina, who correctly predicted the name of the latest royal baby! Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s son is August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. August is a handsome and distinguished choice inspired by the middle of Eugenie’s great x5 grandfather — Francis Albert Augustus Charles Emmanuel.

August now joins the ranks of royal baby names (and will probably get a big boost in the UK because of it). 👑
