This week we’ve got a fair few new things: stunning new Babyberry announcements, a fun chat about a new baby name book, new country name data, and more.
But first, a message from our friends at Bombas!
Still in need of the perfect gift? Bombas’ holiday collection is here to answer your prayers. It's important to show people that you are thinking of them this holiday season. Bombas understand this and so they made it their mission to help some of the most vulnerable members of society. So for every cozy Bombas item you get for yourself, another essential clothing item will be donated to those experiencing homelessness. Buying a 4 pack of socks? That's 4 pairs donated. Make sure to place your order in time for Christmas!

Now, on with the names!
Celebrity Name Trends of the Year
I’ve got to admit I’m not a big celeb-watcher… or at least I wouldn’t be, if it wasn’t for those baby names they keep using. Some are flashes in the pan: everyone knows them but no one copies them (looking at you, North).
Others perfectly show current trends — like Arlo and Emma, used by two celebrities each this year.
And some predict, and fuel, which names and styles are just about to get really, really big. Look what happened to Harper after David and Victoria Beckham used it in 2011.
Judging by the starbaby names of 2022, next year we’ll be looking out for parents choosing even more place names, adjective names, and especially names with a “Cy” sound. (No, don’t sigh!)
Beautiful Babyberries
On the blog, we rounded up the last two months of new baby announcements from our reader forums. It’s hard to pick a highlight: not only are all the names stunning (Olina, Penelope, Alastair, Zoilo!), but every story shows how much care and meaning parents put into their kids’ names.
New Country Name Stats
Did you know we have the latest baby name popularity charts for over 30 countries? We’ve just added a few new ones — they’re not on the main page yet, but you can take a sneak preview at the top baby names of 2021 for Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, Croatia, and Ukraine.
