Nameberry’s Most Searched Names Around the World 🌎
These could be the next big names where you are…
Nameberry popularity – which ranks all the names on Nameberry in order of pageviews – is an excellent predictive tool for which names might become popular next.
The current top Nameberry names, Maeve and Arlo, are currently below the Top 150 in the US but rising in a big way. Across the pond in the UK, Arlo is already a Top 30 pick and Maeve was among the fastest rising new entrants to the Top 100 last year, boosted by Sex Education.
But the Nameberry stats are most useful if you live in one of our top countries for visitor numbers, like the US, UK, Canada or Australia.
If you don’t, never fear!
On the blog this week: we reveal the Top 5 girl and boy names with visitors from 25 countries – from Israel to India, Sweden to South Africa.
There are some fascinating finds on these lists. Some, like Kwaku and Caoimhe, give a peek into the culture of their respective countries. Others, like Ludo in Pakistan or Moss in New Zealand, might surprise you!
Cool Names Invented by Celebrities
Celebrity parents are famed for their quirky naming style. But in an era when thousands of non-famous parents are using adventurous options like Legend, Kairo, Magnolia and Zuri each year, how to ensure that your chosen name really is totally unique?
Easy – invent your own!
Invented names can be totally wild (*cough* X Æ A-XII), but they don’t have to be. The prize for my favorite invented celebrity baby name of all time has to go to Rosebanks, the middle name of Anne Hathaway’s son Jonathan. It’s a creative combination of two family names, Roseline and Banks, but it sounds like a legitimate surname or place name.

Seasonal Names: Passover and Easter
Happy holidays to all of our readers who are celebrating this weekend!
I’ve always loved dreaming up names for a baby born on a special day. I stand by my Easter names suggestions from a year ago: Flora Pascaline for a girl, or Pascoe Felix (“Happy Easter”) for a boy 🐣
Check out our Easter Names Ultimate Guide for more creative seasonal ideas, from Ostara to Ozanne.
And Chag Pesach sameach to our Berries who have been celebrating Passover this week! We take a fresh look at modern Jewish baby names, from Ari to Aviva – whose springlike meaning makes it doubly perfect for a Passover baby girl 🌷
