This week on Nameberry, we looked at Stylish Names with Staying Power -- names with contemporary style which have quantifiably managed to stay as stylish as ever without ever getting too popular.
For our newsletter readers, here’s a further list of names with that same kind of steady style.
We looked only at names above the Top 1000 but below the Top 100. It’s hardly news when classic Top 100 names like James and Elizabeth maintain their popularity over the decades, or when obscure names stay obscure.
What’s interesting is the names that feel cool and new yet never get ultra-trendy OR go out of style. On the blog, we looked at names that had maintained a steady level of popularity for a decade or more – and sometimes several decades.
To calculate steady popularity from a different direction, we looked at names that have moved 15 or fewer places in the rankings from the year 2000 until now. Here’s that list:
