A few weeks ago, I became an aunt for the first time.
Well, a cat aunt. My sister and her boyfriend recently adopted a kitten, and sheβs the first solo pet either of my siblings has ever owned.
Deciding on her name was a saga β one for which I was naturally called in.
Originally, the catβs name was going to be Pinto, but after seeing a photo of her future feline daughter, my sister had second thoughts.
I know their baby name style βΒ if they had a child today, theyβd be named Eloise βElleβ or George βGeorgie.β But like a lot of pet owners, Tess and Adam wanted something a little less serious for their cat.
My suggestions? Velvet, Maude, Oat. All vetoed.
Ultimately, my sister and her boyfriend used their kittenβs shelter name βΒ Chamomile. It comes with a wealth of creative nicknames options βΒ Camo, Millie, Mila β but they went with the straightforward, cute-as-ever Cammie (not surprising as it matches their Charmer-Leader Baby Name DNA).
