New Baby Name Rankings
One of my favourite things about the start of the year is that a new round of baby name data begins, so we can see the most up-to-date trends around the world.
Some countries and regions have already published their most popular names of 2021:
Brazil’s charts were topped by Helena and Miguel again (source: Portal da transparência)
Germany’s most popular names were Emilia and Matteo (Beliebte-Vornamen.de)
In the Netherlands, Julia and Noah took first place (SVB)
In the Australian Capital Territory, Charlotte was the top girl name, and Henry and Oliver were a tie for boys.
This month, I’ll also be looking out for updates from New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Poland, British Columbia, and more Australian states.
