It’s the namenerd’s lament: by the time official baby name data has been released, it’s already hopelessly dated!
Yes, we’ll have to wait until May 2025 to get any government data about 2024 baby names. So what to do if you’re expecting a baby before the end of this year?
Enter: the mid-year Nameberry charts.
We’ve calculated the Top 100 most viewed names on our site from January-June 2024, giving you a sneak peek into which names might be rising this year.
Of course, it’s not fully accurate — Royal probably won’t break the Top 300 for 2024, Luxury is just a name people are curious about, and we’d be surprised to see Maeve in the Top 10 — but by and large, these are the names parents are considering for their 2024 babies.
Now, can you guess which names came in at Number 101?
Which names just missed the Top 100, and sit just below Sophie and Wesley? Guess a girl and boy name in the comments. The first people to guess each one correctly will get a shout-out in next week’s Nameberry Newsletter!
Hints below 🤓
Girl Name: Vintage revival with literary (and a couple of modern film/TV) references
Boy Name: A favorite throughout the ‘90s with a nickname that comes in three widely-used spellings
