By now you are probably familiar with our ranking of the most popular names on Nameberry — the names that attract the most views on our site. Eye-catching names Luxury and Royal lead the pack.
But are our passionate, name-loving Nameberry community members actually using these names “irl”? Not quite.
I analyzed the data from over 5000 birth announcements posted on our forums — the names given to actual babies of our fellow Berries (aka Babyberries) — to find the answers.
Here are the names given to the most real-life babies of our community of name-nerds — the true measure of style — along with the number of times each name has been used for a Babyberry.

The only first name to make the Berry Top 10 as well as the US Top 10 is Charlotte. Several of the Berry favorites are well out of the US Top 100, including Phoebe (#214), Adelaide (#283), and Matilda (#415).
Berries love a sweet vintage revival, and having a plethora of adorable nickname options (Lottie, Nell, Tilly, Ada, Penny, you name it) was a draw for many parents as well.
In the middle spot, Berries went short and sweet. Of course, you have universal favorites like Rose, Grace, and Mae, but Pearl especially stood out to me as a very-berry middle name.
And in case you are still wondering, we have yet to see a Berry use the name Luxury. Maybe one day!

Boy’s names were a bit more in line with national trends, with Theodore, Henry, Oliver, and James ranking in both the Berry Top 10 and the US Top 10. The lowest-ranking of the Berry favorites is Felix, coming in at #192.
Berries love boy’s names with soft sounds — Leo, August, Jasper, and Milo all capture this perfectly. Whereas in the middle slot, Berries went for timeless classics like Michael, Patrick, and Robert — often noting that they came from the family tree.
